Mountain View, Santa Clara County
Google has been based in Mountain View since 1999 and moved into its main campus, the Googleplex, in 2004. The buildings were put up for Silicon Graphics, an earlier star of the valley. Nearby on Shoreline Boulevard, the Computer History Museum traces the story of computing from the abacus to the smartphone.
